Our service has strong links with several academic institutions, particularly King's College London, with a strong emphasis on attachment, parenting and developmental psychopathology. Current research interests include mental health service use and mental health disorders in UK adopted children; early maltreatment and executive dysfunction in adopted children; neuropsychological and borderline personality features in children in the care system; the differential diagnosis of attachment disorders and common mental health disorders in adopted and looked after children; secondary trauma in carers of children looked after.
